2012 Case TR320 Skid Steer with Gas Strut Needs

Question:

A skid steer was recently traded in, in decent condition, but in need of new gas struts for various components. Despite receiving basic maintenance, the machine's tracks and undercarriage appear to be original. It was traded for a New Holland C345 and shares many similarities with it. Although the controls layout is unfamiliar, I plan to test it later today to determine my interest. An alternative option was the New Holland C237, but it was deemed too costly for the work it would provide. However, I will keep my trusty 1845C skid steer and Hyster forklift as they have served me well. While I would prefer an enclosed cab for a quieter operation, the cost may be prohibitive.

Vetech63 suggested that investing in big hams and beverages for our online community could bring greater enjoyment. While I wasn't initially convinced, I think you may be onto something. Perhaps my lack of excitement was due to the unclean equipment or potential hidden issues. Either way, I'm not in a rush to make a decision.

I recently completed a heater repair on a Case TV380, which was a tight but successful job. Luckily, I obtained a complete schematic for the repair, and it seems that your machine has the same wiring. Best of luck to you! Regards, Simon C.

If you own an early Alpha series machine, like my 2012 TR320, it's essential to open the steel access doors located underneath the machine. By cleaning out any accumulated dirt and removing the remote oil drop extension on the oil pan (commonly found on older models), you can prevent potential cracks and damage caused by dirt/mud buildup. These early machines were part of the learning curve, but issues like EH problems have since been resolved. I speak from experience when I say it's better to address these maintenance tips now than to deal with costly repairs later on. Lucky for me, my issues were covered under warranty.
