Best Tool for Installing Front Seal on JD 5020 - Recommendations Needed

Question:

I have the 5020 split and I'm looking for advice on where to find a tool to properly install the front seal. Looking back, I realize it may have been quicker to have a professional handle this task, but I'm committed to seeing it through. The front seal measures 7 inches in diameter and 6 inches in inner diameter, and none of my current seal presses are suitable for the job. Does anyone have any recommendations for a tool or technique to properly seat this seal?

If you're having trouble tapping it in slowly in a circular motion with a dead blow, try checking with your nearest lumber yard or plumbing supply store for suitable pipe couplings. If the original method isn't working, consider seeking out alternative solutions. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk

When dealing with large seals that you need to remove without causing damage, consider using a combination of a large hammer on one side and a smaller one on the other. Another effective technique is to use a steel plate to cover the seal's face and strike it in the center if there is no obstruction in the way. These methods can help you successfully remove stubborn seals without causing any harm.
