After test driving both models, I found the 620 to be more practical for my needs. The local dealer has a 620 on the way, but it's already spoken for. Its ability to move 1.5 cy at a time is quite appealing, equivalent to a 590 SN bucket capacity in a CTL. The dozer on the 550 with steel tracks impressed me, as it hooked up well and had ample power. The rippers were handy, and the Leica system on it was impressive. However, I personally don't often perform work that requires these features. When I operated the 620 with a mulcher, I was impressed by its capabilities. These machines are built to withstand heavy-duty use. I am considering ordering one next year if the workload looks promising. Although a new 160/210 is a higher priority for me right now than a larger CTL. I'm unsure about the price for these models as I haven't received any official information.

I occasionally rent a 750M dozer, which has much more pushing power compared to the 550 model. The 550 dozer, equipped with Leica technology, was great for finishing grade work, while I use the 750's for moving larger quantities of material than my 450B can handle. The versatility of the 550 is its main appeal - it can push well and has a weight of around 16K, but its track length is not as extensive as the 750M. Despite this, adding a bucket attachment allows for loading trucks and carrying out lift and carry tasks. The potential return on investment is higher for businesses looking for a machine that can perform multiple functions. When referring to capabilities of the 620 model, I mean its lifting capacity, high flow capacity, and bucket breakout strength. This machine sets a new standard for compact track loaders in terms of capacity. While I am uncertain of the auxiliary specifications of the 550, I presume they are similar. This versatile machine allows you to easily push debris into piles or windrow it, and then quickly switch to a bucket or grapple attachment for moving it around or loading it into trucks. I am uncertain when or if we will have access to these machines in Australia, but I am hopeful that we eventually will.
I was informed by my dealer that they will be receiving 2 new 620s this month and 2 more in the first quarter of 2022. The salesperson quoted me a price of $82,000 for a fully-equipped model, which I found to be quite reasonable. Additionally, they offered me a price of $71,000 for a new 450B model, which is only slightly more expensive. It's worth noting that all four vehicles already have signed sales orders in place.
