Troubleshooting Bucket Tilt Issue on Case 430 Skid Steer - Joystick Interlock Problem Detected

Question:

Greetings, I am experiencing an issue with my Case 430 skid steer where the bucket is unable to tilt back or forward. Whenever I attempt to tilt it, the joystick controls the boom movements instead, indicating a possible interlock issue. Despite this, the skid steer is still operational in terms of driving, steering, and boom functions. I have already inspected, cleaned, and replaced all fuses to no avail. My next course of action will involve lifting the cab to inspect the solenoids, wiring, and other components underneath. Do you think I am on the right track with this approach? Any advice on how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Is your equipment operated via mechanical or pilot controls? If it's pilot-operated, troubleshooting may be challenging. However, if it's mechanical, there may be an issue with the linkage. To diagnose the problem, tilt the cab, depress the mechanical lap bar interlock on the left side of the frame (ensuring the engine is off), and manipulate the controls while observing the linkages. Additionally, pull the rubber boots on the controls up for a closer inspection of these components. This process can help identify any issues affecting the equipment's performance.

Jacobd inquired about whether the controls are mechanical or pilot-operated. If they are pilot controls, the issue is unclear, but if they are mechanical, there may be a problem with the linkage. To diagnose the issue, tilt the cab, press down on the mechanical lap bar interlock on the left side of the frame, and manipulate the sticks while observing the linkages. Additionally, lift the rubber boots on the sticks to inspect those areas. Thank you for the tip, Jacob.
