I acquired a Pettibone RTL10 loader/forklift from military surplus in excellent condition. However, we encounter a problem where the braking system fails after 20-30 minutes of operation. The brakes, which are hydraulically operated, suddenly stop working despite functioning perfectly before. I suspect the main hydraulic tank is involved in the brake system. We only use this equipment once or twice a week in a boatyard, and the issue persists every time. Any advice or insights on this matter would be highly appreciated.
Do you know what PSI is suitable for an accumulator tank that uses nitrogen?
Answer: Answer: The sudden brake failure could be due to issues within the hydraulic system, such as a potential problem with the main hydraulic tank which is involved in the brake system.
Answer: Answer: The intermittent brake failure after a short period of operation could be caused by a hydraulic issue that needs to be diagnosed and addressed for proper functionality.
Answer: Answer: It is recommended to inspect the hydraulic system thoroughly, including the main hydraulic tank, to identify any potential leaks, blockages, or other issues causing the brake failure after a certain period of operation.
