I have been searching for a solution to my issue with my 2007 247b Skid Steer, but have not found anything relevant. My experience with Skid Steer is limited, and I encountered a problem yesterday while operating it. Suddenly, the skid steer began losing power and eventually shut off. I have inspected all the essential fluids, including hydraulics, engine oil, and fuel, as well as the fuel filter, but the issue persists. The Skid Steer starts, only to shut down moments later. It is currently parked in my driveway, blocking access. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you own a 247B, you may be interested to know that it shares the same fuel pump as the 242B (refer to the attached image). Within this fuel pump is a small filter basket designed to catch large debris before it reaches the main fuel filter. I encountered a similar issue and found that the filter basket in the mechanical fuel pump was clogged with debris. While there are multiple areas in a fuel system that can become blocked, it's important to consider the filter basket as a potential culprit during troubleshooting. I am happy to report that I have solved the issue by replacing the faulty water fuel separator filter with a genuine one from CAT. It took some time, but I was able to get my equipment up and running smoothly again. The previous filter was the outdated fuel filter that was causing the problem.
It is important to replace Baldwin filters with higher quality alternatives. Consider upgrading to filters from reputable brands like Donaldson, which are equally as effective as OEM Cat filters.
