If your lift is showing a warning light and alarm for the trans filter bypass, changing out the filter may not have resolved the issue. Consider resetting the sensor on top of the filter housing to see if that resolves the problem. Any suggestions on further checks or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
What is the total number of wires connected to the sensor?
I need to check the sensor tomorrow to confirm the number of wires attached to the 4-prong plug. Thank you for responding, I will update with the information soon.
Today, I inspected the sensor and noticed three wires connected to it.
After troubleshooting with a test light and a V/O meter and finding no issues, I decided to remove the sensor. While doing so, I thought I heard a click. I tapped the sensor on a piece of wood in the direction that would close it and reinstalled it. The warning light and beeping sound disappeared. It may be necessary to remove the sender to reset it when a warning light is triggered, as it worked in this situation. Any insights on this matter for future reference would be welcome.
Answer: Try resetting the sensor located on top of the filter housing to see if that resolves the issue.
Answer: If resetting the sensor does not work, consider inspecting the sensor itself for any issues or consult the lift's manual for further troubleshooting steps.
Answer: Ignoring the trans filter bypass warning can lead to potential damage to the lift's transmission system, so it is important to address and resolve the issue promptly.
Answer: It is not recommended to continue using the lift when the trans filter bypass warning is active, as it indicates a potential issue that should be resolved before further operation.
